A relay is an electrically operated switch used to control circuits by opening and closing contacts in another circuit. Relays are essential components in various industries, including automotive, industrial automation, home automation, and telecommunications, due to their ability to manage high-power devices with low-power signals.

Key Components

Coil: The part of the relay that, when energized, creates a magnetic field to activate the switch.

Armature: The movable part of the relay that opens or closes the contacts when the coil is energized.

Contacts: The conductive parts that open or close the circuit. There are two types: Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC).

Spring: Returns the armature to its default position when the coil is not energized.
